Well thankfully it looks like Intel has had a change of heart because the company has recently announced the availability of the device and its new pricing. According to Intel, the MICA bracelet will be priced at $495, which is admittedly a lot more expensive than most wearables out there, but if you wanted something fashionable and unique, then we guess that’s the price you’ll have to pay.
The price will also include an AT&T SIM card that will come with data and text messaging good for two-years, although they did not dive into details as to how much data one would be getting. As for availability, Intel has also mentioned that the MICA will be going on sale in time for the Christmas holidays, so if you know someone who would love to have it as a Christmas present, you should be able to get your hands on one around then.
The MICA will feature 3G connectivity, GPS, integration with TomTom and Yelp, and will also sport a 1.6-inch OLED display that will display notifications, the time, and additional information. Intel is also boasting that the MICA will feature a 48-hour battery life. If you’d like to learn more, head on over to Intel’s website for the details.
