The Infinity Blade franchise has long been an exclusive to iOS devices and was designed to show off the iPhone’s graphics capabilities. However all of that came to an end with Infinity Blade 3 which turned out to be the last game in the franchise, at least as far as iOS devices are concerned.
But could the game see a new lease of life as a title for other devices? Well if recent teaser images like the one above is any indication, yes. According to reports from various gaming websites, it seems that the Infinity Blade game could be making its way onto the Microsoft Xbox One console.
Additional teaser images have revealed players in their homes making hacking and slashing motions (see above) which also seems to suggest that players could play the game using the Kinect sensor where they will make these attacks and blocks with their bodies, as opposed to using the gamepad.
Now the teasers are done in Chinese which seems to suggest that this could be a China-exclusive game. Given that Tencent is said to be the one bringing the game onto the console (Tencent also owns 40% of Epic Games, the developers behind the franchise), we can’t say this is too surprising.
It will be interesting to see how Infinity Blade will play out with the Kinect sensor and we also have to wonder if it could make its way to other markets eventually, but we’ll definitely be keeping our eyes peeled for more information.
