This came about after many users complained that they were not receiving their text messages after switching from iOS to a different platform. Well it seems too little too late because according to a report from Reuters, Judge Lucy Koh has granted the lawsuit filed earlier this year to proceed.
For those unfamiliar, the lawsuit was filed by a former iPhone customer Adrianne Moore. According to Moore, she claims that she ceased receiving messages after switching from her iPhone 4 to a Samsung Galaxy S5, which ultimately interfered with her contract that she had with Verizon, which is why she is filing this class-action lawsuit and is also seeking damages from Apple.
According to Koh, “Plaintiff does not have to allege an absolute right to receive every text message in order to allege that Apple’s intentional acts have caused an actual breach or disruption of the contractual relationship.” Of course it remains to be seen if Moore will win the lawsuit against Apple, so we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info.
