What you see above happens to be the earliest known officially licensed 1963 Batmobile, where it was lovingly hand-built from a 1956 Oldsmobile. Heritage Auctions claims that this Batmobile was customized in 1960 by 23-year-old Forrest Robinson, where he completed this car in 1963. Two years later, George Barris’ customization of the “Batman” TV series’ Batmobile kicked off, which means that this particular Batmobile from 1963 is deemed by collectors to be the “earliest known car in existence that was sanctioned by a DC Comics licensee.”
Internet bidding is set to kick off this coming December 5th at 8 p.m. PT, where the auction would end on December 6th at 9 a.m. PT. Should you be the one who put in the winning bid, then you would need to take your Batplane to bring home the ride from Northern California.
