BlizzCon 2014 is around the corner which means we can look forward to a ton of goodies from Blizzard, such as developer panels, costume contests, and so on. It is also possible that a new Hearthstone expansion could be announced. Now we know that Blizzard is working on new content for Hearthstone but it seems that in a teaser image released by Blizzard, that announcement could be made at BlizzCon.
It seems that different websites received different invitations, but all of them had to do with the Hearthstone game. So what could the next title be known as? Well according to Hearthpwn, they discovered a trademark registration by Blizzard for the name “Eye of Azshara” which some have speculated to be the name of the next Hearthstone expansion.
However let’s not forget that Blizzard had earlier this year filed for a title called “Overwatch”. It is possible that Overwatch could be Hearthstone related, but rumors have suggested that this is another small-ish game effort from Blizzard involving multiplayer as well, so perhaps we will hear more about it at BlizzCon.
So far Blizzard has talked a bit about the next Hearthstone expansion. The developers have indicated that they plan on adding a bunch of new cards as well as new game modes, but the theme of the next expansion still remains a mystery. Blizzard had also previously delayed the smartphone version of the game to 2015 so hopefully we will hear more about that at BlizzCon, so do check back with us then for the details.
