An electric car is definitely worth looking into if you would want to do your part in helping to keep the earth green, not to mention lowering your monthly expenses with the fluctuating price of fuel. However, one of the bigger disadvantages of an electric car is the fact that you would have to charge it up nearly every day, and the range of such a ride is not so hot after all – not to mention that it is not all that easy to find a charging spot in public. Well, Tesla’s Model S has revolutionized the electric car market, allowing other automakers such as General Motors to sit up and take notice. Ford themselves is touted to be working on their very own long range electric car which is touted to go beyond the 250 mile range on a full charge.
In a recent conference call, Ford CEO Mark Fields did mention to reporters that Ford has paid close attention to Tesla’s Model S, and that would mean stripping the entire ride apart – and then rebuilding it. It seems that Ford is going to indulge in a little bit of creative engineering here, building from the Tesla S’s strengths and hopefully, eliminating any of the weaknesses that they have discovered.
How much are you willing to pay for an electric car, and do you think that electric cars will one day rule the roads?
