The new Call of Duty title, which was in development for over three years at Sledgehammer Games, is performing quite well. Activision CEO believed that it will outsell Call of Duty: Ghosts. Across the pond in the UK the game has done exceptionally well. Latest data shows that in its first week alone, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has sold more copies than Destiny, Titanfall and Wolfenstein: The New Order combined.
The data comes from GfK Chart-Track and shows that Advanced Warfare is now the UK’s fifth fastest selling Call of Duty game of all time. Its week one sales are nearly 14 percent higher than what the aforementioned three titles mustered in their first week on sale together.
Gfk Chart-Track doesn’t name the four Call of Duty bestselling titles ahead of Advanced Warfare but they’re likely going to be Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops and Black Ops 2. It does mention that Advanced Warfare has “convincingly outsold” last year’s title, Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Up till now Activision hasn’t revealed exact sales figures for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and GfK Chart-Track doesn’t mention them as well in its report.
Advanced Warfare is set in the future, with the storyline involving a rogue private military contractor equipped with futuristic weapons that even includes exoskeletons.
