It has been a while since we last heard about a new StarCraft game from Blizzard. As StarCraft 2 players are probably aware, the game was meant to be released in three parts, with each part representing one of the factions in the game. It started with the Terran, the Zerg, and presumably the last one will be about the Protoss.
Well it looks like come BlizzCon 2014, Blizzard could very well announce the third title in the StarCraft 2 franchise – Legacy of the Void. This is according to a couple of recent audio clips that Blizzard has uploaded onto the StarCraft 2 SoundCloud page. The clips are a little bit garbled so it is unclear as to what might be said.
It could be a coincidence that Blizzard decided to update its SoundCloud page so close to BlizzCon, although chances are it’s probably not. With StarCraft 2 releases being two years apart, we wouldn’t be surprised that Blizzard could announce Legacy of the Void for a release in 2015.
The developers will be hosting a StarCraft 2 panel on Friday where presumably details of the expansion (and hopefully a trailer) will be revealed. Blizzard is also expected to announce details of their next Hearthstone expansion at the event, so do check back with us during BlizzCon 2014 for the details.
