BlackBerry’s latest flagship smartphone appears to be doing quite well in the market, it has been a long time since anyone has said that about a smartphone made by this Canadian manufacturer. Over 200,000 units were sold on the first day after launch alone with more following suit. BlackBerry CEO John Chen was actually relieved that the company was having trouble keeping up with demand because it certainly exceeded their internal expectations. So far the device is only available in black but more color options might be coming soon.
The white BlackBerry Passport has already been confirmed by the company, which said a few weeks back that this smartphone will be available in white before the end of this year. So far a concrete release date has not been provided.
Photos of a BlackBerry Passport in striking red have also been making the rounds for a few months. While it hasn’t been officially confirmed as a color option by BlackBerry, N4BB reports that both of these colors will be available for purchase around Christmas.
The report claims that the Passport will be sold in these new colors through Amazon, where the off-contract unlocked version is going for $599. No word as yet when the red and white Passport is going to head to other markets.
We have seen a black and gold version as well but there hasn’t been much to say about that particular version, which is now widely believed to be a third-party gold-plating job.
