Earlier this morning, we did talk about how BlackBerry World had a promotional advertisement for the upcoming BlackBerry Classic, and as the name of this particular smartphone suggests, it points to a throwback to the earlier days of BlackBerry where they were in control of the smartphone business, and not merely trying to “survive”. Well, we are glad to bring you word that pre-orders for this particular smartphone is now open, and it certainly lives up to its name in terms of its design.
Pre-orders for the BlackBerry Classic will start off at $449 a pop, and it is well within our expectations for the smartphone to begin shipping some time in the middle of next month onward. This would make it a decent shout out when it comes to having a nice smartphone in your Christmas stocking this year.
As for its hardware specifications, the BlackBerry Classic is said to feature a 3.5” display at 720 x 720 pixels resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB of internal memory, an 8MP camera at the back and a 2MP front-facing shooter, alongside a 2,515mAh battery to keep it going. Will the classic BlackBerry-style thumb keyboard appeal to you, alongside its navigation buttons and trackpad? [Press Release]
