The Nexus 6 has gradually begun its roll out across U.S. carriers. This smartphone is also being sold through carriers because it happens to be expensive enough to warrant a carrier subsidy, those who were fans of Nexus smartphones because of their competitive pricing were certainly taken aback by this. As promised on Tuesday the second largest carrier in the country, AT&T, today started accepting pre-orders for the Nexus 6.
At this point in time the carrier is only selling the Midnight Blue color Nexus 6 with 32GB of onboard storage. With a conventional two year service contract this smartphone can be purchased on AT&T for $249.99. Those who would rather not have a contract can pay the entire cost of $682.99 upfront.
AT&T is also offering the device on its Next plans, for $22.77 on Next 24, $28.46 on Next 18 and $34.15 on Next 12. Customers will have to make the aforementioned equal monthly payments in order to pay off the device’s cost.
Since it is a Nexus smartphone after all the Nexus 6 is also being sold through the Google Play Store. Inventory issues have plagued the launch with stock quickly drying up at the online store, same happened on Motorola’s online store. Carriers are believed to have limited quantity available, so I’d hurry to get my pre-order in if I were you. AT&T expects to start shipping units by November 18th.
