iphone-6-prototypeIt was slightly more than a month ago when we brought you word of an alleged prototype iPhone 6 ending up on eBay, with the bid being in the tens of thousands by then. This particular 64GB model of the alleged iPhone 6 prototype eventually managed to break the $100,000 barrier before it was removed from the site, although it did manage to make its way back online on eBay again, albeit being sold off at a fraction of the original winning bid at $11,100.

Apparently, the seller claimed to have received this particular unit from Verizon after he decided to take the plunge and make an upgrade to the brand new iPhone 6. The handset did come with a few unusual apps, and it was widely believed to have been a prototype. Apple has called it an unfinished production model, which means it should not be all that rare – and is a very plausible explanation for having it removed from eBay during the first auction.

This unfinished production model will come with some unique markings, including a red charging port, as well a missing FCC markings that are on the back. Do you think that $11,100 is still a whole lot too much to pay even for a prototype device?
