The Guinness World Records has recently crowned the Call of Duty franchise as being the best video game series. This beat out the likes of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto, Microsoft’s Halo, and Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda. It also beat out EA’s FIFA series, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed, and EA’s Battlefield, just to name a few.
According to the Editor-in-Chief at the Guinness World Records Craig Glenday who spoke to The Independent, “More than 5,000 fans of the book from 140 countries across the world took to an online poll to vote for their favourite games, and the top 50 record-breaking games were featured in the book.”
Now there have been some talk amongst analysts who seems to believe that Activision’s Call of Duty franchise is starting to lose its appeal, with some of them forecasting low sales. However Activision’s CEO seems to think otherwise and is under the belief and confidence that their latest title, Advanced Warfare, will outsell its predecessor.
