HTC introduced “Eye Experience” at its Double Exposure event a few weeks back and it did promise that these new camera features will make their way to some existing devices through a software update. One such update has already been released for the T-Mobile HTC One (M8) and today it is Verizon HTC One (M8)’s turn. The device has received Android 4.4.4 update which includes everything that comes part and parcel of the Eye Experience.

The update has started rolling out today but it may take a couple of days for the update to become available across all regions. Android 4.4.4 for Verizon HTC One (M8) weighs in at 210MB so be sure to hook up to a Wi-Fi network before downloading.

Verizon hasn’t posted a changelog for this update online but those who have already received the update report that it brings Android KitKat 4.4.4 and the HTC Eye Experience.

The Eye Experience adds several new features to the device’s camera. These include the ability to take selfies by saying the word “cheese” and to view direct feed from both the rear and front camera in split-screen view. Eye Experience also adds the ability to track up to four faces during a video chat. The Screen Share feature lets users share whatever is one their screen with the person on the other end of a video call.
