On Android, users can choose to use the Email app or the Gmail app. The former will allow users to check their emails from other providers, while Gmail is for, well, Gmail. However if you preferred the features and design of the Gmail app, you might be pleased to learn that the upcoming version of Gmail will come with some new features.
According to the folks at Android Police, the new Gmail app will allow users to add their Yahoo and Outlook email accounts to the app, thus allowing users to check more than one account in the Gmail app. Users will be able to switch between the accounts simply by selecting the account from a drop down menu.
Unfortunately it is unclear if the app will now support Exchange ActiveSync as well, but we guess we’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled for more information. The app is also unavailable for download at the moment as Google has yet to officially release the redesigned Gmail app with the Material Design makeover, but hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to get our hands on it.
In the meantime does the idea of being able to add your Yahoo and Outlook accounts to your Gmail app sound appealing to you?
