T-Mobile’s Nexus 6 Might Not Support WiFi Calling [Rumor]

As you might have heard by now, T-Mobile expects to launch the Nexus 6 come the 12th of November, but if the rumors are to be believed, the handset could be missing a key feature – WiFi calling. Now WiFi calling is one of the services that T-Mobile offers its customers. In fact the carrier had announced that the feature would (finally) be introduced to iOS 8 devices, but a report from AndroidGuys suggests otherwise.

According to AndroidGuys, they claim that one of their sources has told them that WiFi calling will not be making its way onto the T-Mobile version of the Nexus 6. It is unclear as to why this could be, but as AndroidGuys notes, this is still preliminary information and that things could change at a later date, possibly closer to its launch.

The carrier has not responded to the rumors yet, so we’ll definitely be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for more information. WiFi calling is an important and useful feature. It allows users to make calls should they be unable to receive a signal from the carrier, but they only have WiFi enabled.

In fact a couple of years ago, the Nexus 4 on T-Mobile’s network was unable to use WiFi calling either, although this was more of a manufacturer issue, as opposed to T-Mobile. Could we be looking at the same problem here? We guess we’ll just have to wait and see, but in the meantime would the lack of WiFi calling be a deal breaker for you?
