There has a lot of fuss that has been made over the Apple’s Bendgate issue over its bending iPhones. According to Apple, they claim that only 9 people have actually come forward with complaints of actual bending, and a recent test conducted by Consumer Reports has found the case to be overblown.
Granted the new iPhones are weaker than most of their Android competition in terms of durability as the tests found, but it’s still durable enough to withstand the alleged bending in the pockets of users. Well it seems that T-Mobile’s CEO John Legere has decided to weigh in on the issue during a GeekWire summit.
Legere has been known to be rather outspoken as a CEO and he certainly did not mince words during his speech. Speaking about the video of the person bending the iPhone, Legere was quoted as saying, “The video of the guy that’s doing this — and if you could have seen his face, he probably would have been purple. The veins were coming out of his fingers and the thing moves a little bit. Are you ****ing me?”
He also talks about people who might have sat on their phones. “You know what, those 9 people that sat on their phones, first of all they need jeans that fit them a little better, cause if your jeans are cutting your phone. What idiot [tries to bend the iPhone 6]? Give me a break. Take your laptop, you know, do handstands on it, throw it against the wall. That’s bull****. This thing doesn’t f***ing bend.”
Legere also adds that despite the scandal/controversy, demand for the new iPhones are not slowing down. In the meantime if you’d like to check out Legere’s interview at GeekWire, check out the video above.
