Of course the price won’t be the same, but if you were to split it multiple ways, you could end up saving money. For example if two users were to share a Spotify account, it would be priced at $14.99. For three users, it would be priced at $19.99, $24.99 for four, and will go all the way up to $29.99 for a maximum of five users, which works out to be around $6 each which isn’t too bad.
However as Spotify has mentioned, these accounts will remain separate from one another, which is a good thing because it means that your own playlists and recommendations will remain separate from someone else in your family plan. With this offering, it allows Spotify to compete with other services like Rdio who have offered similar plans before Spotify did.
The new Spotify Family plan is expected to roll out globally in the coming weeks, so if you have family members yet to subscribe to Premium, perhaps this would be a good time to do so.
