It hasn’t been that long since Sony unveiled its newest flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z3. Sony has made a habit of releasing two flagships per year and while the Xperia Z3 hasn’t been around for that long already we’re hearing rumors about a much more powerful device in the pipeline. It will presumably be called the Sony Xperia Z3X and if specifications picked up by benchmarks are correct it will be one powerful smartphone with a camera to match.
An AnTuTu listing for Sony Xperia Z3X has surfaced online. According the specifications mentioned in this listing the Xperia Z3X will have a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with a whopping 4GB of RAM and equally powerful Adreno 430 graphics processor. A 6.2-inch 1,600×2,560 pixel resolution Quad HD display is also mentioned in the specs.
Rumor has it that this will be the first smartphone to come with Sony’s curved camera sensors, a relatively new technology which apparently simulates curvature of a human eye to provide more realistic pictures. It is reportedly going to be a 2/3″ sensor with a wide F1.2 aperture.
It is unclear as yet when Sony will launch this device and exactly what it may end up being called. If its the Xperia Z4 then we should expect it to debut around Mobile World Congress early next year, that’s when Sony’s six-month cycle for flagships will be reached. As yet Sony has not officially confirmed the existence of this device so take this information with a grain of salt for now.
