A couple of days ago, we mentioned that the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact was available for purchase via Sony’s online website, although there was no mention of a shipping date back then. Well for those who are wondering when the phone will be officially shipped out, Sony has officially pegged the phone for a release on the 3rd of November, at least according to their online store.
The phone will play nicely with AT&T and T-Mobile, so if you’re on either network and you’re looking for a phone that you can use without locking yourself into a contract, then perhaps the Xperia Z3 Compact could be it. However due to the fact that it is sold off-contract, you will have to pay its full retail price of $530 for it.
Now don’t let the “Compact” moniker fool you. The handset is more or less a smaller but just as powerful version of the Sony Xperia Z3. The phone will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz and will be accompanied by 2GB of RAM.
There will be 16GB of onboard storage, a 20.7MP rear-facing camera with a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor, BIONZ image processing technology, and will support both Full HD and 4K video capture. If there is one downside, it would be that its display is 4.6-inches at 720p resolution, but other than that, what’s not to like?
