The latest version of Shazam will now come with Cortana support, meaning that when you launch Cortana, all you’d have to do is say “Shazam this” and it will activate Shazam to start listening to the sounds around you and hopefully identify the song that you were looking for. This is similar to Shazam for iOS which also has the “Shazam this” feature.
Back in April ahead of iOS 8’s announcement, it was rumored that Shazam will be arriving in iOS 8 and will be integrated into Siri, thus allowing users to use Siri to identify songs. Unfortunately it seems that the feature has yet to ship, although this could change in future iOS 8 updates, but essentially it’s the same feature.
Shazam for Windows Phone is free and users will be able to use it as many time as they’d like, although to lose the ads they’d have to upgrade to Shazam Encore. If you have yet to check it out or update it, head on over to the Windows Phone Store for the details.
