It was back in June when Sony first confirmed that the PlayStation TV will be coming to the U.S. This micro-console is not only capable of streaming videos but it can also stream games as well. Simply hook it up to the TV and its capable of running games for PS Vita and streaming titles for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. PlayStation TV was originally released in Japan last November.
At $99.99 Sony says that this device offers “one of the best deals in gaming.” The PlayStation TV is capable of playing games from the Vita, PSP and PSone. PlayStation 3 titles can be streamed through the PS Now game streaming service and PS4 titles through Remote Play, which means that you need to have a PS4 console in order to play its titles through PS TV.
There’s PS Store access as well which means you will be able to download content such as TV shows, movies and music. It will also launch with apps like Crunchyroll, Qello and Crackle with Sony promising additional entertainment content for this device in the near future.
Sony will be selling a bundle as well which includes a PlayStation TV unit, a DualShock 3 controller, an 8 GB memory card and a voucher for The Lego Movie game for $139.99.
