VR headsets aren’t really a mass market product right now but efforts are being made by many companies to make this technology mainstream. On one hand you have gaming companies like Oculus and Sony working on their VR headset projects and on the other there’s Samsung one of its own. Looks like Chinese manufacturer Oppo doesn’t want to be left out of the fray as well. Looks like Oppo is also working on a VR headset.
A picture was shared by the official Oppo account on Weibo, which is like Twitter for China, and it apparently shows an employee sporting what appears to be a VR headset developed by the company, since it carries the Oppo logo.
This was a teaser because so far Oppo has not revealed any more details about this product. It is possible that the VR headset might be launched alongside Oppo N3 which has already been rumored countless times. It is also possible that this VR headset may be paired with the N3 like Samsung paired its VR headset with the Galaxy Note 4.
Not all of Oppo’s products are sold out of China so it remains to be seen if this device makes it way to other markets as well. No information is available right now regarding specifications and pricing so we’ll have to wait for official word on that.
