The nascent smartphone company OnePlus has been finding it hard to get units out to customers. It has been running an invite system through which customers are invited to purchase their OnePlus One unit. This process is slow which is why many heaved a sigh of relief when OnePlus announced pre-orders for the device if only for one day. Howevering owing to the problems raised in the previous pre-order session the company has decided to give customers a second chance.
Many potential customers could not place a pre-order for the OnePlus when the first session kicked off on October 27th. The company says this was due to server problems that were caused by an increase in traffic even though it had already doubled server capacity in order to accommodate the rush.
OnePlus says that it has studied what went wrong and exactly where more computing power was needed. So it not only apologized to all those who couldn’t place a pre-order on October 27th but also announced to open a second pre-order session for the OnePlus One on November 17th starting at 10am EST.
Do keep in mind though that this pre-order period will also only last one day so better get your orders in on November 17th or you will be left waiting for an invite.
