When we buy video game consoles like the Nintendo 3DS, chances are we are planning to play games with it. We might surf the web a little, chat with friends, but ultimately the goal here is to play games. Now we know that there are gamers out there who love to personalize their devices.
Well the good news for Nintendo 3DS owners is that now you can. Previously the Nintendo 3DS’ user interface was a little bit bare. However it seems that Nintendo has recently issued an update for the console that will let gamers choose from different themes. These themes are offered free and come in black, red, blue, yellow, and pink.
However if you want something a little more complex like Mario themes and whatnot, Nintendo will be selling them anywhere between $0.99-$1.99 each. The update will also allow you to share screenshots by pressing the up/down button while holding onto the Y button at the same time, thus snapping a screenshot of both the upper and lower part of your screens.
We expect that perhaps over time Nintendo will be adding more themes for gamers to choose from. It would not be a stretch to think that developers will eventually be able to add their own themes to their games as well, but either way what do you guys think? Is this a welcome feature?
