That being said, Microsoft has recently confirmed to the folks at The Verge that they will indeed be rebranding their smartphones to the Microsoft Lumia moniker. Nokia France will be the first country to adopt the Microsoft Lumia branding for its Facebook, Twitter, and other social media accounts, and other countries are expected to follow suit in the following weeks.
Nokia’s brand is still alive and well, especially since it was the cellphone division that Microsoft had acquired, not the Finnish company in its entirety. There have been rumors that Nokia could be thinking of launching Android devices in the future, and the Android Z Launcher app seems to suggest that there could be some interest in the Android platform at least.
As far as aesthetics are concerned, we’re not sure if Microsoft will need use the “Microsoft” name to brand future smartphones, or if they might use the “Lumia” name instead, or alternatively they could opt for the full name of “Microsoft Lumia”, although that probably won’t look as appealing, but we guess we’ll just have to wait and see, but what say you?
