The screenshots provided in the app shows off the device which could be known as the Microsoft Band upon its release. It looks a bit like the Samsung Gear Fit in terms of its design and its horizontal display, although we have to admit that those are not necessarily bad things. The description of the app is rather scarce at the moment, but according to the description, there will be cloud syncing involved.
It also appears that Microsoft has also published an app called Microsoft Health on the Google Play store as an Android device. This app confirms that the Microsoft Band will feature 24-hour heart rate monitoring along with email previews and calendar alerts. The description also reveals tracking features such as calories burnt, steps taken, and will track your sleep quality.
A listing for a Windows Phone app also revealed that Cortana integration will be included in the Microsoft Health app, thus allowing users to speak to the Microsoft Band to take notes and set reminders, although we’re guessing this is most likely a Windows Phone exclusive. Still no official word on when the device will launch, but given the app store appearances, we’re guessing it will be soon, very soon.
