One of the most well received Android devices to hit the market this year has to be the LG G3. With its Quad HD display and 13 megapixel camera which touts Optical Image Stabilization the G3 has been one of the devices to beat for Android OEMs in 2014. Surely the company’s fans are expecting more next year when what may be the LG G4 will be released. Its possible that the camera module in the next flagship could boast 20.7 megapixels with a much better OIS system.
There’s a reason why this might be possible. Reports out of Korea reveal that LG has shown off a new camera module today at the 2014 Korea Electronics Show. This new module will be incorporated in its 2015 lineup which means there’s a high chance of the LG G4 getting it.
The new camera module boasts 20.7 megapixels and an improved Optical Image Stabilization system. LG has improved the OIS correction angle in this module and brought it up to 0.7 from 0.5 in the module that’s fitted in the G3.
In simple terms increased correction angle means better results in photos and videos with reduced blurring effects brought on by shaky hands.
Its only a matter of time before rumors about LG’s 2015 flagship start rolling in. Who knows what else this Android powerhouse may have to offer.
