LG jumped on the circular smartwatch bandwagon with the G Watch R. It has been a while since this smartwatch was unveiled by the company and today it has finally confirmed the G Watch R release plan for major markets around the world. Some European countries will be the first to receive availability whereas folks interested in picking one up here in the U.S. will have to wait for a bit before this smartwatch becomes available in North America.
The G Watch R is the second smartwatch from LG this year. Initially it released the LG G Watch, an Android Wear powered smartwatch with a square design.
Customers in France, Spain and Italy will be able to purchase the LG G Watch R early next month. The UK may get it even earlier, perhaps even tomorrow. These are the countries included in the first wave of the European rollout.
LG has said that North America, Asia and Commonwealth of Independent States will get the G Watch R “soon after” its release in the aforementioned countries. It has even confirmed that this smartwatch will be available through the Google Play Store in certain markets. Exact release dates have not been provided but at least now we have a good idea of when to expect this smartwatch to go on sale.
The G Watch R has already been out and about in South Korea.
