The BlackBerry Classic is hardly a secret, although what is a secret would be its launch date. It is expected that the phone will most likely see a release this year, although the question is when? Given that we’re only a couple of months away from ending 2014, we could be looking at a November or December date.
Well according to BlackBerry’s CEO John Chen, the BlackBerry Classic will be seeing a launch in December. This was confirmed by the CEO who spoke at at the MIT Enterprise Forum which was recently held in Hong Kong. Chen stated that BES12 would be launching on the 13th of November, followed by the BlackBerry Classic one month later.
We’re not sure if Chen just means a December launch in general, or if he is talking about literally a month as in the 13th of December. Either way we guess we still have over a month left to wait. The BlackBerry Classic will be following on the heels of the BlackBerry Passport’s release which turned out to be a rather successful one.
The BlackBerry Classic will be targeted at BlackBerry loyalists who have enjoyed BlackBerry’s older designs, as opposed to BlackBerry’s newer phones which features a more updated and modern design. The Classic is also expected to reintroduce the trackpad, a feature missing from BlackBerry’s newer phones, and a toolbelt of buttons along with BlackBerry 10 preinstalled. So, who else is excited for the Classic?
