Well if you were wondering just how much appeal the iPads or iPhones have to the youth, look no further as Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster has recently published his semiannual teen survey, and according to his findings, it looks like the iPhone remains just as popular as ever.
Munster’s survey had included 7,200 teens with an average of 16 years old. When asked what their next phone would be, a whopping 73% answered that it would be an iPhone. However given that 63% of teens already own an iPhone, chances are these teens could simply be upgrading.
When it comes to tablets, the iPad clearly dominates at 54% belonging to the iPad, and 12% belonging to the iPad mini. However when it comes to the question of the Apple Watch, it seems that teens weren’t particularly enthused. It seems that only 7% own a smartwatch at the moment while only 16% would actually buy the Apple Watch.
This is actually a drop of 1% from Spring 2014 (prior to the Apple Watch being announced) where 17% actually said that they would buy the device. Perhaps it is the price point of $350 that is putting teens off, or perhaps many do not see the need for a smartwatch yet, but what say you? Are these numbers surprising?
