One of the changes that Android L will be bringing to the table is a new design language that Google is calling Material Design. So far we’ve seen Google slowing rolling out the design changes in apps like the Google Play Store and Chrome Beta for Android, and it looks like Google Now will be getting a makeover too.
This was confirmed when a Google employee tweeted the screenshot above which showed the Material Design language in action on Google Now. However it seems that the tweet might have been premature as it has since been taken down, although we guess many have managed to save the screenshot since then.
Now apart from the more obvious visual changes, there are some slight subtle changes that Google has made as well. This includes a hamburger icon next to the Google search bar that will presumably launch the settings menu, and also the option buttons for the individual cards now appear above the cards as opposed to within the cards.
Still no word on when Google will officially release Android L, although there are rumors that Google could be launching the operating system alongside the Nexus X which is rumored to take place this month, so we guess we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime are you digging the new look?
