psn-suspend-voucherAccording to a variety of reports, it seems that the Sony PlayStation Network has been hit with connectivity issues. Players who are playing from their PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, or PS Vita from Europe, North America, Australia, and Japan are all reporting that they have trouble connecting to the service.

Many of these gamers are reporting the “cannot connect to the server” error message. So far Sony different region’s divisions have yet to comment on the matter, save for Sony PlayStation Japan who had recently posted a message apologizing for the issue and claiming that they are investigating the matter.

At this point in time it is unclear as to why the PlayStation Network is down, especially since no maintenance or planned downtime was announced. Hopefully it is just a glitch and nothing too serious. The last time Sony was attacked it was back in August where the PlayStation Network was hit with DDoS attacks. Sony wasted no time in restoring the servers.

Those attacks were not limited to the PlayStation Network as there were reports that the DDoS attacks had affected the likes of Xbox Live and Battle.net services as well. In any case we will be keeping our eyes peeled for more information regarding this downtime, so do check back with us later on for the details. In the meantime any of our readers still experiencing connectivity issues on their end?
