According to them, the Fitbit Surge has been pegged for a release in the coming weeks where it will be priced around $250, thus putting it in the same price points as most other smartwatches out there in the market today. From what we can tell about the Surge, it sounds like a souped up version of Fitbit’s fitness bands.
For starters it will come with built-in GPS to help runners track and maps their running trail, heart rate monitoring for those at the gym, and is said to provide real time workout data for a variety of activities, such as distance ran, pace, elevation climbed, and so on. It will also be able to track and monitor your sleep and wake you up through vibrations.
As expected the Fitbit Surge will also come with an accompanying all where users can log their meals, earn badges for their progress, and because it syncs with your smartphone, the Surge will also be able to display incoming notifications such as calls and messages. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think of Fitbit’s efforts?
