However it seems that if there is one organization that isn’t too happy about it, it would be the NFL. So why is this? Well according to a report from Re/code, it seems that the NFL’s sponsorship deal with Bose has somehow managed to prevent athletes or their coaches from wearing Beats headphones during televised games.
This is part of the agreement that the NFL has with Bose and will extend to TV interviews conducted during pre-season training camps, practice sessions, and will remain in place until 90 minutes after the play has ended. According to the NFL, “They are the NFL’s policies – not one of the league’s sponsors, Bose in this case. Bose is not involved in the enforcement of our policies. This is true for others on-field.”
As for Beats, a spokesperson has issued a statement saying, “Music can have a significant positive effect on an athlete’s focus and mental preparedness and has become as important to performance as any other piece of equipment.”
