We live in a world where it is so easy to pick up a smartphone or a tablet, and to snap a photo – where at times, that would include shooting selfies, which is a phenomenon that has more or less become so commonplace, it would be rather strange if your social network page or blog does not carry a selfie of yours in one post or another. However, if you are going to visit a park where there are bears, snapping a selfie with a bear might not be such a good idea after all – as what looks like an adorable bear to you might actually end up to be your undoing.
If there is a concrete example of what NOT to do, just remember this – never take a selfie with a bear in the background. The Taylor Creek Visitor Center in South Lake Tahoe claims that guests there seem to be making their way closer to the bears before taking the opportunity for a selfie.
It could end up with a potentially fatal situation, since one might end up getting attacked by a bear. After all, bears happen to be unpredictable creatures, and just like any other wild animal out there, it might actually attack if it feels threatened. A family outing that turns into a tragedy would be unbearable – pun intended.
