It seems that the problem did not come from a bug within Apple Pay, but rather it was a glitch due to a miscommunication between the bank’s systems and a payment network which was not named. This essentially puts Apple off the hook, although admittedly the fact that they are linked will no doubt leave some negative impressions on those who were already skeptical to begin with.
Bank of America has also stated that the amount of transactions affected by this glitch is around 1,000 which when put into perspective considering the amount of transactions that takes place in a day, is actually not too bad. Our earlier report also revealed that Bank of America will be refunding those who were charged twice.
That being said, has this little hiccup put you off from using Apple Pay? Or do you think it’s an innocent mistake that could happen regardless of whatever payment method that you use?
