Now while the PMA charging standard has yet to be confirmed, it seems that at the very least the Qi wireless charging standard has according to the product listing page on Microsoft’s website. Qi appears to be the more popular of the two and accessories that support the standard are widely available.
However if there is an upside to the PMA standard is that they can be found at franchised outlets such as Starbucks or McDonald’s, which means that you can charge your phone without fussing with cables while you enjoy a cup of coffee or a bite of your burger. In any case we guess at least having one form of wireless charging is still a pretty good thing.
Like we said there is no confirmed release date for the handset at the moment, but assuming the rumored launch does take place next week, we guess we won’t have ot wait too long to find out, so do check back with us then for the details.
