However according to a report from DigiTimes (via 9to5Mac), it seems that it could be a supply issue as Apple has found that demand for the device has far exceeded their supply. They report that Apple has since asked their manufacturers to start moving away from the production of the iPhone 6 in favor of focusing on the iPhone 6 Plus.
This does not mean that the iPhone 6’s production will stop, it’s just that Apple could now be shifting their focus to the iPhone 6 Plus. This isn’t a very surprising move as last year Apple did the same with the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, where they reportedly cut down their orders of the iPhone 5c to help boost the production of the iPhone 5s.
So far it looks like Apple has a pretty big hit on their hands. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus handsets had sold a whopping 10 million units during its launch weekend and according to reports, it seems that over in China, there have been over 2 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus reservations even before the iPhones have gone on pre-order.
