Prior to this, users who wanted to check out some of Android 5.0 Lollipop’s features had to root their phone in order to do so. The good news is that this is no longer necessary as all you’d need to do is download the keyboard APK via the XDA Developers’ website, enable “unknown sources” from your phone’s security settings, and you should be good to go.
Now it should be noted that upon its installation, some of you guys might wonder why does the keyboard look the same as before? This is because the default look on some devices has been set to the Holo theme found in Android KitKat, but all you’d need to do is head to your keyboard’s settings and change it to “Material Light” or “Material Dark”, depending on your preference.
Android 5.0 Lollipop has yet to receive an official release date. Earlier rumors have pegged it for a release on the 3rd of November for Google’s Nexus tablets, but Google has promised that the update will roll out to Nexus devices in the coming weeks, so we guess the 3rd of November might not be much of a stretch.
