I am sure that many Android fans are counting days till Android 5.0 Lollipop is released. Google has already confirmed that the update will be coming to supported Nexus devices early month but so far it has not issued any statement regarding an exact release date. If the date mentioned by Google in a note to app developers is anything to go by then its possible that Android 5.0 Lollipop release may take place on November 3rd.
The note was sent out to developers along with Android 5.0 SDK. It clearly states that developers should test their updated applications and published any updates that might be needed to the Play Store “before Android 5.0 is available to consumers on November 3rd.”
There have been multiple reports over the past week regarding the expected release date of Android 5.0 Lollipop and there seems to be a consensus on the November 3rd date. Google hasn’t released a formal statement on this but now it seems likely that the release may be pushed beyond November 3rd.
Several OEMs have already confirmed which of their devices will receive the update to the latest iteration of Android. Some have still not laid down the roadmap. The bottom line is that unless you have a Nexus or a Google Play Edition device you will probably have to wait for a bit even after November 3rd to get Android 5.0 Lollipop on your device.
