So we know that major Android OEMs have promised to release Android 5.0 Lollipop when it has been made available. Companies such as Motorola, Sony, and HTC are some of the companies who have publicly announced that their flagship phones (and then some) will be eligible for the update.
However if you’re using an ASUS smartphone, fret not as the company has recently announced by way of the Taiwanese media that some of their products will see the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in the future as well. The devices that ASUS will be updating will include the ZenFone lineup along with the PadFone S and the PadFone Infinity 2.
Unfortunately if you were hoping that the update would see a release soon, you could be in for a wait as ASUS has stated that the update will only be making its way to its products come 2015. Then again we’re only a few months away from the new year, so we guess it won’t be that long of a wait, we hope.
However given that ASUS had only recently updated their ZenFones to Android 4.4 KitKat, it certainly does not bode well for Android 5.0 hopefuls, but like we said hopefully the update will come sooner rather than later.
