When we think of Apple’s competitors, chances are we think of Samsung. Now the latest smartphone from Samsung is the Galaxy Note 4 which probably packs the highest specs amongst Samsung’s phones to date. As for Apple, they have the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, both of which share near-identical specs.
That being said, is there one phone that might do better than the other? Well according to Shinhan Investment’s Kim Young-chan, he wrote in a note to investors that he believes that Apple’s iPhone 6 will actually be able to outsell the Galaxy Note 4 by a factor of 10 to 1. This means that Apple will be able to sell 10 iPhones for every Galaxy Note 4 sold.
As it stands, the iPhone 6 is outselling the Galaxy Note 4. According to reports from the Korea Herald, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus pre-orders have managed to hit 80,000 over the Note 4’s 30,000 pre-orders. Other carriers such as KT Corporation managed to nab 50,000 iPhone 6 pre-orders in 30 minutes, while LG Uplus managed to nab 20,000 orders in 20 minutes.
Of course not everyone is a huge fan of Apple in the country. A recent report from certain Korean media outlets have criticized Apple for failing to open an official Apple Store in the country, despite the surging interest in the company’s products, but what do you guys think? Is a factor of 10 to 1 a little too extreme?
