That being said, could it be about time that Canon announces a success to the Canon EOS 6D? Is two years too long/short for a replacement to be taking place? While a replacement to the camera remains to be seen, interestingly enough Amazon UK has listed the camera has having been discontinued by the manufacturer, which would be Canon in this case.
However oddly enough, Amazon US still has the camera listed as available, which would suggest that perhaps Amazon UK’s listing of it being discontinued might have been made in error. Like we said the camera was launched in September 2012, thus making it a little over two years old which does seem a bit early to announce a successor.
At the same time, Canon Watch claims to have heard from their sources that a successor to the EOS 6D has been pegged for a potential launch in 2015, so perhaps discontinuation might not be that much of a stretch. Either way take it with a grain of salt for now, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info.
