According to our report nearly a week ago, it was revealed that Blizzard would finally be bringing some of their World of Warcraft servers to Australia. Prior to this, Australians and New Zealand gamers could choose the Oceanic realms that was based on their local game time, but with the move, the servers are expected to be relocated to Australia physically.
What this means is that for those living in Australia and New Zealand, your ping time should be noticeably better, or so we hope. That being said, it has also been announced by Blizzard that those playing on Oceanic realms will experience a 24-hour maintenance period as the servers are being relocated. According to Blizzard, the Oceanic realms will be going back up at 3AM PDT which means there is still quite a while to go.
As you can see on the World of Warcraft realm status page, all other servers are back online save for the Oceanic ones. This will include Aman’Thul, Barthilas, Caelestrasz, Dath’Remar, Dreadmaul, Frostmourne, Gundrak, Jubei’Thos, Khaz’goroth, Nagrand, Saurfang, and Thaurissan.
Blizzard has also issued patch 6.0.3 so if you’re wondering what the patch will be bring to the game, you can head on over to Blizzard’s website to see the complete patch notes which will include a couple of changes as well as some bug fixes.
