While Microsoft’s Xbox One has seen some rather disappointing sales figures over in the Land of the Rising Sun, does this mean that it is not capable of delivering the goods elsewhere around the world? Not really, as right after FIFA 15 was released, in addition to a price cut over in the U.K., it has been reported that the Xbox One managed to shift more units compared to its bitter rival, the Sony PS4, this week.
This just goes to show yet again that having a solid gaming title is one of the key ingredients when it comes to making sure that you will be able to shift even more units of a particular hardware. According to an anonymous retail source, Xbox One hardware sales actually saw an increase of 155% week-on-week, and this can be attributed to the recent Xbox One price cut in addition to FIFA 15 that “honors” Luis Suarez’s real life ban.
Of course, this is not to say that sales of the Sony Ps4 actually dropped. On the contrary, the sales figures for the PS4 also increased, having shifted 80%, although that was not enough to let the Xbox One pip it to top spot – at least for this week. The battle of the consoles is well and truly on!
