It looks like Cortana, the digital personal assistant on the Windows Phone platform, has been spotted getting her job done in Polish, which has further added fuel to the speculation that the Windows Phone 8.1 GDR2 update is about to be revealed. A tweet from a contributor to a Polish Windows Phone blog points to the very real possibility that this October 8th, the alleged update is set to make its way to Preview for Developers.
Needless to say, it would be fair to say that there will be changes with this GDR2 update, and some of them include the possibility of a mobile data toggle switch for the Action Center, not to mention being able to support the Snapdragon 805 processor, as well as bringing the Alpha version of Cortana to even more regions.
Apart from that, there are whispers that this particular update will feature support for a 2K resolution screen, now how about that? As for those who are not developers, there is a very strong possibility of you having to wait until next year for a Windows Phone 8.1 GDR2 update, once after the developers have had their fair share of fun, so to speak. Ah well, “better late than never” is a comforting adage in such a situation, don’t you think so?
