It was exactly one year ago when we reported that Microsoft will be offering support for the Windows Phone 7.8 mobile operating system only until September 9th, 2014. However, it looks as though the folks over at Microsoft are benevolent enough to offer support for the mobile operating system until next month – and that’s it. This means October 14th is the new deadline as to when support for this venerable mobile operating system will cease. It is interesting to note that 19.2% of Windows Phone users are still rocking to Windows Phone 7.8, now how about that as food for thought?
Once October 14th has passed, those who are still living their daily lives with a smartphone powered by Windows Phone 7.8 will no longer be on the receiving end of any kind of updates or new features. In other words, it is high time that a hardware upgrade is in store.
Windows Phone 7.8 was first introduced to handsets a couple of years ago, and it was subsequently replaced by Windows Phone 8 in October of the same year.
