Over the past few weeks there have been many reports and rumors about the upcoming iteration of Windows. We have seen some of the features it is expected to bring via several leaks and we also got to know that Microsoft will be officially making some kind of Windows-related announcement on Tuesday. It is widely believed that the Windows 9 Technical Preview will be released after the announcement and there’s some new evidence that points towards a 4GB download size of the preview.
Yesterday the staging site for this technical preview was made public apparently by accident. Even though it was pulled later some details have already been spread across the internet. The link points to the site where Windows 9 Technical Preview will be made available for download.
A screenshot of the page gives a glimpse of the new operating system and one can even make out the virtual desktop icon on the taskbar. It was rumored a few weeks back that Windows 9 will have support for virtual desktops. A revamped Charms bar and Cortana integration are also reportedly on the cards though not all features might be available in the preview.
The 64bit technical preview will weigh in at 4GB whereas the 32bit version will come in a bit over 3GB. No word as yet if Microsoft will unveil when the public release of Windows 9 is going to take place on Tuesday, but since its not too far, we can just wait and see what happens later this week.
