WhatsApp iPhone App Confirms Voice Calling Feature

Not too long ago, we talked about how WhatsApp for iOS has begun to obtain a bunch of new features, but the long awaited voice call capability was nowhere to be seen. Having said that, it looks like this particular voice call feature might have been further confirmed as there is a pop-up that will request access to the microphone each time the app is opened. The pop-up would read, “WhatsApp requires microphone access to send Voice Messages, record Videos with sound, make and receive Voice Calls.”

Of course, do bear in mind that this particular pop-up will appear only when users have failed to enable WhatsApp for iOS access to the microphone. If you would like to view a similar screenshot as seen above, you will have to head to Settings > Privacy > Microphone > WhatsApp > and flip the slider to Off. When you boot up WhatsApp next, you ought to be able to see this particular screen on your handset, too.

In the past, WhatsApp’s voice calling feature was spotted in Hindi translation requests, while it was also seen in leaked images of the user interface when it comes to voice calling. WhatsApp right now remains the most popular messaging app in the world, and with voice calling activated, you should not see its popularity wane by any means – on the contrary, it might just increase all the more.
